KCA’s Goals:
Each student will have at least 30 minutes in the afternoon of Ute language and culture instruction each day, provided by Ute Language and Culture Specialists from the Ute Mountain Ute K-12 Education Department and community members. These classes will focus on listening, speaking, and spelling Ute language, while covering many Ute cultural topics.
Each student will be engaged in rigorous language, math, science and social studies each day for at least 4 hours, using Expeditionary Learning and Everyday Math.
All students are expected to develop pro-social character skills, such as respect, collaboration, curiosity, and grace. In addition, each student will aspire to increase their physical fitness and follow a healthy diet. Students will have at least 30 minutes of physical activity each day and have healthy breakfast, lunch, and snacks. Meals are created and delivered directly from the school from Ute Mountain Ute Casino.
Every student will engage in activities with Tribal members, including representatives from Tribal departments, leaders, Elders, and parents and present to the community their Ute language and culture on a regular basis.

Application: Starting on February 15th of each year, this website will post an enrollment form for the following school year found here: (we will provide google link).
Lottery: Parents interested in enrolling in the following year should complete the form and return to the school by April 15th. If more students apply for enrollment than there are slots available in any one classroom, a lottery will take place for available slots. When a classroom slot is not immediately available, then a wait list is created from lottery results.
Last Day to Enroll: Parents can enroll their child until October 1st of each year, unless approved by the Head of School. Otherwise, the students may have to be placed on a wait list.
