KCA is a public charter K-3 school in Towaoc, Colorado focused on Ute language and culture and project-based learning.  Full-time openings for the 2023-24 school year with Competitive Salaries and Benefits with 401K, all positions are available for either full or part time for applicants with experience working with young children ages 5-10 years old:

Family Engagement Specialist*

Provide home-to-school student transportation and field trips using school vehicle, corresponding with families about academic progress and homework, and holding at least four family events throughout the school year.

Health and Fitness Assistant Teacher*

Work directly with the teachers and nurse to offer classes and field trips that increase the students’ and their families’ physical fitness and understanding of healthy eating and lifestyles.

Social Worker*

Work directly with the school staff and Special Education Teacher to offer student mental health services, including direct student counseling, connecting families with Tribal Behavioral Health services, and attending appropriate school, Tribal service, and student meetings.

Outdoor Recreation Specialist*

Develop and implement afternoon bicycle and outdoor classes, plan and deliver field trips and service projects.

Tutoring Specialist*

Perform small group literacy and math instruction, assist with progress monitoring, and READ Plans.

Career Specialist*

Teach elective class on Career and Leadership Development, coordinate guest speakers, develop career curriculum for elementary grades, coordinate field trips to Tribal departments and enterprises.

Educational Assistant*

Assist classroom teacher with instruction and supervision during lunch and recess

Ute Mountain Ute Language and Culture Teacher(s)

The Ute Mountain Ute Language and Culture Teacher(s) will teach daily classes and offer after school activities at Kwiyagat Community Academy (KCA).  KCA is a public charter school in Towaoc, CO enrolling 56 students in grades K-3 and expected to grow to 90-100 students in grades K-5 by 2025.  This position will also lead the development a comprehensive K-5 Ute Language and Culture language and culture curriculum and program. Two positions available, one for male and one for female.
